Alan D. Fetterolf , 88, of Bethlehem, PA, died October 25, 2023 at his residence. Born in Palmerton, PA, on September 25, 1935, he was the son of the late Luthur D. and Helen (Hockman) Fetterolf.
He was General Supervisor of the heat treating facilities for plate mill operations at the former Bethlehem Steel Corporation, Sparrow Point, MD, until his retirement in 1983. Alan graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Metallurgical Engineering in 1957. He was a former member of the Baltimore Jaycees, and the Shrine Band of Baltimore, Patapsco Lodge #143 Baltimore, MD, and of the Tall Cedars. Al Also played his trombone with the then Baltimore Colts Marching band before they moved to Indianapolis. Alan served his country honorably in the Army, achieving the rank of RCT (P). He was of the Lutheran Faith.
Survivors: Daughter, Wendy Peugh of Bethlehem. Sister, Marilyn wife of William B. Porter of Matthews, NC. Grandchildren, Matthew Slenbaker and partner Shannon Bressette, and Melanie Peugh of Bethlehem, Great-Grandchildren Matthias and Kaylee Slenbaker of Bethlehem. Nephew, William L. Porter, and Niece Kathleen A. Porter.
Services: A Memorial Service will be held graveside at 11:00AM on Thursday November 2, 2023, at Towamensing Cemetery, 3rd Street Palmerton PA 18071. Rev. Michael Frost will be officiating, all are welcome. Arrangements are entrusted to the Campton Funeral Home, 525 Delaware Avenue, Palmerton, PA, 18071.
