Alberta "Birdie" J. Frey

Alberta "Birdie" J. (Eberts) Frey , 85, formerly of Chapel Drive, Lehighton, Mahoning Twp., PA, died peacefully Thursday evening, March 2, 2023, at St. Luke's Hospital, Miner's Memorial Campus, Coaldale.  She was the wife of the late Salem T. Frey, Jr. who passed in 2016.  Born in Andreas, Schuylkill County, she was a daughter of the late Clayton R. and Minnie G. (Reichard) Eberts.

Alberta was employed as a machine operator by the former Millworks at Indigo Jean Co., Lehighton.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker, and member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, New Mahoning.

Survivors: Daughters, Tina Mertz of Lehighton, Brenda K. wife of Steven Baldwin of Kelso, WA, and Sheila A. wife of Carvin Coombe of New Ringgold.  Sons, Gary L. and wife Crystal of Lehighton, and Paul L. and wife Gwendolyn of Groveland, FL.  10 grandchildren. 15 great-grandchildren.  2 great-great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by sisters, Ruth, Helen, Alice, and Margaret, as well as brothers, Albert, Earl, Willard, Richard, and Kenneth.

Services: 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at Miller Funeral Home, 137 Fairview Street, Lehighton, PA 18235.  Call, 10:00-11:00 a.m., Tuesday in the funeral home.  Interment 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 8, 2023, Church Cemetery, New Mahoning.  Online Condolences: www.schislerfuneralhomes.com .
