Alfred W. VanOsten, Sr., 88, of Scenic View Lane, Lehighton, Franklin Township, Pennsylvania, formerly of Philadelphia, died Monday afternoon, November 16, 2020, at St. Luke's Hospital, Gnaden Huetten Memorial Campus, Lehighton. He was the husband of Mrs. Gertrude K. (Rebstock) VanOsten since April 7, 1955. Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late George and Anna (Stalnecker) VanOsten.
Alfred was employed as a printer operator by the Paper Manufacturers, Philadelphia, retiring in 1988. He attended Peoples Evangelical Congregational Church, Franklin Township. Alfred was a longtime board member and resident caretaker of Mount Gilead Camp and Conference Center, Reeders. An Army Veteran, Korea Era, he served his country honorably in Japan and achieved the rank of Cpl.
Survivors: Wife. Daughter, Beth Ann wife of Edmund Siuda, Jr. of Chalfont. Son, Paul D. and wife N. Sue with whom he resided. Daughter-in-law, Cynthia (Harris) VanOsten of Pennsburg. 9 grandchildren. 9 great-grandchildren. Brother, William of Philadelphia. Several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by son, Alfred W. Jr. in October, and brothers, George and Robert.
Services: Memorial Services Are To Be Announced . Interment, Hillside Cemetery, Abington Township. Arrangements are by Campton Funeral Home, 525 Delaware Avenue, Palmerton, PA 18071. Online Condolences may be left for the family at: www.schislerfuneralhomes.com .
