On Tuesday morning, May 16, 2023, Alice Sarah (Eckhart) Frable of Palmerton, passed from this world at the age of 84. Born October 2, 1938, she is the daughter of the late Howard and Sarah (Lichtenwalter) Eckhart, and was married 54 years to Donald W. Frable, who passed in 2014. She is survived by her daughters, Carla Binder, and Sara Deily, wife of Doug Deily, and grandchildren, John and Sarah Binder, and Joelle and Evan Herzog.
She enjoyed spending time with family, going to plays, dinner theaters, and concerts in the park, reading, playing games, making puzzles and lunches with her classmates from Palmerton High School. She believed in the importance of volunteering and through the years spent much of her time helping the Palmerton Hospital Auxiliary at The Nearly New Shop. Her faith was a very important part of her life, and she shared her joy in many ways including helping with youth group, confirmation classes, visiting shut-ins, and sending cards to celebrate their lives. She loved filling in for various local pastors, leading congregations in worship and sharing the morning's message. She worked as a secretary her entire life.
Alice is also predeceased by her birth mother, Pauline (Eckhart) Shook, sisters Hilda Eckhart, Mabel Hahn, and Violet Strickland, and brothers, Lewis, and Norman Eckhart, and son-in-law Philip Binder. Mahoning Nursing and Rehab. has been her home for the past several years. We were blessed with the great love and care they gave mom through to the end, as dementia took the last piece of her. She is finally free and at rest. Please have a peaceful day with love in her memory.
