Alice I. Henning

Alice I. (Rehrig) Henning , 91, of Lafayette Avenue, Palmerton, PA, died peacefully Sunday afternoon, September 4, 2022, in her home, surrounded by her loving family.  She was the wife of the late Maynard W. Henning, who passed in 1989.  Born in W. Bowmans, E. Penn Twp., she was a daughter of the late Wilbur and Laura (Knappenberger) Rehrig.

Alice was employed as a clerk/assistant for the former Shipman's Pharmacy, Palmerton, for 22 years.  She was an active member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, Palmerton, where she was a choir member for many years.  Alice enjoyed her bowling league and participating in the Carbon County Senior Olympics.  She was a member of the W. Bowmans Auxiliary. Alice enjoyed arts, crafts, ceramics, walking, sewing, tailoring clothes, and telling one of her many jokes.

Survivors: Daughter, Jane A. Ivol-Yelich wife of Daniel G. Yelich of St. Louis, MO.  Sister, Lorraine Falcone of Allentown.  Nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by daughter, Dyana M. Henning, brothers, Sgt. Laird Rehrig, deceased 6/06/1944 D-Day, Normandy, Horace Rehrig, and Gene Rehrig.

Call, 7:00-8:30 p.m., Thursday, September 8, 2022, at Campton Funeral Home, 525 Delaware Avenue, Palmerton, PA 18071, and 10:00-11:00 a.m., Friday, in the church.
