Alice K. Nero

Alice K. Nero , 102 life long resident of Whitehall - Cementon, PA. passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Born December 15, 1920 in Whitehall / Stiles, PA, she was the daughter of the late Michael Haberern and the late Katie (Klimeck) Haberern. She was the wife of the late John "Jeddo" Nero Jr. who passed away in January 1991.

Alice was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was formerly Co-Owner and owner/operator for 38 years of Jeddo's Toyland & Luncheonette before retiring in 1985. She was a former member of the church council and choir at the former St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Cementon. After it's closing she became a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran church, Whitehall-Egypt. Alice was always an active person always on the move, including hiking the Alps on a family vacation at the age of 83.

Surviving are daughters, Linda E. wife of Gregory Heffner, Carol J. Szoke, Janice A. wife of Michael Fetchko all of Whitehall, PA. 12 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren, and 1 great-great-great grandson. She was predeceased by her son Gerald, son in-law, Frank Szoke, grandson, Kyle Szoke and seven siblings.

Funeral Services will held at 12:00PM on Friday April 14, 2023 at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 4331 Main St. Whitehall, PA 18052 with the Rev. James Schlegel officiating. Family will receive friends from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM in church prior to services. Interment will follow in Egypt Cemetery, Whitehall, PA. Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA 18067 has been entrusted with her care and services.
