Mrs. Althea S. (Hoffman) Chedrick, 99, formerly of Mauch Chunk Road, Palmerton, and Sacred Heart Assisted Living, Northampton, went to Glory with her Lord and Savior on Thursday afternoon, March 5, 2026 at the Fellowship Community, Whitehall, PA. She was the wife of the late Michael Chedrick, who passed away in 2006. Born in Lehighton, she was a daughter of the late Allen and Arvilla Hoffman.
Althea was a loving wife, mother grandmother, and homemaker. She was a member of the former SS. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Palmerton. A 1944 graduate of the Lehighton High School, she enjoyed attending many of her reunions over the years, including her 75th in 2019. Althea volunteered with Easter Seals and spent time at the Palmerton Memorial Park Pool. She enjoyed sports and attended many games of her grandchildren, also cheering for the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Yankees.
Survivors: Surviving are a daughter, Susan M., wife of Frederick Kleintop of Palmerton; grandchildren, Erin J. Sexton, and her wife Jessica, and Christian M. Kleintop, and wife, Holly; Great-grandchildren, Braydon, Mason, Jerek, Gia, and Harper, and son-in-law, William Shook, and wife, Marlene (Anthony) Shook, of Palmerton. She was predeceased by daughters, Delores A. Shook, and Brenda J. Chedrick-Niman; sister, Mildred Schmidt; and brother, William Hoffman.
Services: Funeral Service, 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 14, 2026, Campton Funeral Home, 525 Delaware Avenue, Palmerton, PA 18071. Call, 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., Saturday in the funeral home. Interment, St. Vladimir's Lower Cemetery, Fireline Road, Palmerton.
