Alvin J. Arnold

Alvin J. Arnold, 89 of Orlando, FL, formerly of Whitehall, PA, passed away Sunday, February 13, 2022, at his residence. Born, December 7, 1932 in Allentown, PA, he was the son of the late Jay Arnold and the late Mildred (Goedecke) Arnold. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth A. (Churetta) Arnold who passed away January 13, 2019.

Alvin was a 1950 graduate of Whitehall High School, who was last employed as a parts runner for Mack Trucks, Inc., Allentown, PA for 15 years before retiring in 1988. Prior to Mack Trucks, he served in the US Air Force for 21 years with tours throughout the Continental US and other countries including the Vietnam War. He was a member of St. John Fisher R.C. Church, Catasauqua, PA. Alvin enjoyed spending time with family, golfing, and bowling.

He is survived by son, Gregory Arnold and wife Janice of Slatington, PA, daughter, Betty A. Mateer of Harrisburg, PA, sisters, Jane Ramer and Nancy Pavlovic both of Allentown, PA; 4 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by sisters, JoAnne and Jacqueline and brothers, Jay and Wayne.

A Funeral service will be held Monday February 21, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave. Northampton, PA 18067. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Interment with Military honors will follow in St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery, N. Catasauqua, PA.
