Amy J. Longsdorf, a freelance writer for 34 years for The Morning Call, died on May 2, 2022, in her home in Palmerton, PA, from ovarian cancer.  She was 61 years old.  Ms. Longsdorf was born in Palmerton, the only child of the late Rev. William and Nancy (Werner) Longsdorf.

She graduated from Palmerton High School in 1978, and Cedar Crest College in 1982.  She worked as a movie reviewer and entertainment reporter for a number of publications, including People, Bergen Record, Washington Post, Toronto Star, Philadelphia Weekly, and Camden Courier Post.  When she wasn't sitting in the dark, watching favorites like "Meet Me in St. Louis," "Bonnie and Clyde" and "Europa'51," she was hiking the great Pennsylvania nature trails with treasured canine companions, Abby, Petey, and Ginger.  When she wasn't singing along to Sondheim, Aretha Franklin, and Bob Marley, she was pounding the pavements with buddies, Bandit, and Lucy.
