Ann E. Campton

Ann "Nan" E. (Leyman) Campton , 85, of Princeton Avenue, Palmerton, Pennsylvania, died peacefully early Friday morning, June 4, 2021, at Bush's Personal Care Home, Kunkletown, Eldred Township.  She was the wife of the late Charles H. Campton, Funeral Director, who passed in 2000, and was the former owner of the Campton Funeral Home..  Born in Nanticoke, Luzerne County, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Anna R. (Dzialdowski) Leyman.

Ann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker.   In her early years, she was employed as a registered nurse at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.  She helped her husband at the funeral home and gave many volunteer hours to various organizations in Palmerton.

Ann was an active member and Eucharistic Minister at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Palmerton. She was a member of the Concourse Club and served as President for a period of time.  She was a member of the Palmerton Business and Professional Women's Club and a member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary.  She was a member of the Friends of the Palmerton Library, Palmerton Historical Society and a Blood Mobile volunteer.  Ann was an active member of the Palmerton Hospital Auxiliary, and earned more than 4000 volunteer hours - Daycare, Owls Nest Gift Shop, and the Nearly New Thrift Shop for many years.  She enjoyed bowling in the Palmerton Senior League, and her weekly Bridge Club.

Survivors: Survivors are Sons, C. Mark, and wife Lois, of Mill valley, CA, Christopher A. and wife Janet E., of Woodinville, WA, and Kevin C., and wife Karen S. , of Petaluma, CA.  6 grandchildren, Cara, Cole, Sean, Andrew, Charlene, and Justin.  Sister, Carol wife of William Burke of Bowie, MD.  Niece, Cathy O'Malley of Jacksonville, FL.  She was predeceased by a sister, Regina O'Malley.
