Anna M. Nemecek

Anna M. Nemecek, of Palmerton, Pennsylvania, was called home by the Lord, late Tuesday evening, August 30, 2016, while a resident of Weatherwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Weatherly, PA. She was two hours shy of her 93rd birthday. Anna was the wife of the late Ernest A. Nemecek who passed on December 22, 2006. They celebrated 60 years of marriage together on February 16, 2006.
Anna was a daughter of the late Alexander, Sr. and Anna (Hari) Molnar. She was also predeceased by an infant son, Stephen in March of 1950; a brother, Alexander, Jr. in April 1988; a brother, James in January 2003; and a sister, Lena Bakos in January 2015. Anna was the youngest of her siblings.
She was a life member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Palmerton. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed being a homemaker, cooking, baking, game shows, word puzzles, solving Rubik's Cube, and getting a good deal. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with family. Anna's family would like to thank the staff at Weatherwood, and since mid-June, the staff of Ascend Hospice, for their kindness and service to our Mom while a resident there for nearly 22 months.
Survivors: Daughters, Kathleen wife of Bruce Althouse of Rainsville, Alabama, Susan wife of Maynard Silliman of Palmerton. Sons, James M. and wife Barbara of Sellersville. 3 Grandchildren, John, David, and Donna. 2 Great-grandchildren, Jessica, and Eston. Several nieces and nephews. Sister-in-law, Mrs. Ethel Molnar of Laureldale, PA.
Services: Mass of Christian Burial, 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 243 Lafayette Avenue, Palmerton, PA 18071. Call, 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday, prior to Mass, at the Campton Funeral Home, 525 Delaware Avenue, Palmerton, PA 18071. Interment follows Mass, at the Parish's New Cemetery on Stoney Ridge Road, Palmerton, PA 18071.
