Anthony "Tony" C. Mesics, 68, of Lower Smith Gap Road, Little Gap, Lower Towamensing Township, died suddenly Tuesday morning, May 10, 2016, at Blue Mountain Health Systems, Lehighton Campus. Born in Palmerton, he was a son of the late Stephen and Mary (Sikorsky) Mesics.
Tony was employed as a truck driver for various regional establishments. He was a member of St. Vladimir''s Ukrainian Catholic Church, Palmerton. He enjoyed spending time doing maintenance, and helping with the pyrohy project at church. Tony was a 1965 graduate of the Palmerton High School. A US Coast Guard Veteran, he was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal.
Survivors: Sister, Stephanie M. Mesics-Boyer, of Little Gap. Brothers, Charles of Ocala, Florida, Steve of Little Gap, Michael and wife Denise of Aquashicola.
Services: Divine Liturgy, 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 16, 2016 at St. Vladimir''s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 106 Delaware Avenue, Palmerton, Pennsylvania 18071. Call, 9:00-10:00 a.m. Monday, at Campton Funeral Home, 525 Delaware Avenue, Palmerton, Pennsylvania 18071. Parastas, 10:00 a.m., Monday in the funeral home. Interment with Military Honors, Parish''s Upper Cemetery, Maple Drive, Palmerton, Pennsylvania 18071.
