Anthony T. Slade

Anthony T. Slade , 67, of Kline Avenue, Lansford, Carbon County, PA, formerly of Hempstead, NY, died Monday afternoon, August 7, 2023, in his home.  He was the husband of the late Doris F. Slade who passed away in 2020.  Born in Reidsville, NC, he was a son of the late Mr. Slade and Betty D. Slade-Reid who passed in October of 2022.

Tony was employed as a truck driver in the delivery department of the Coca Cola Corp., Bronx, NY, for 21 years, retiring in 2019.  A Marine veteran, Vietnam Era, he achieved the rank of PFC E-2, serving with the 2nd Marine Division, FMF.  Anthony enjoyed caring for his dogs, and was a friendly, caring, and good-hearted person.

Survivors: Fiancee, Thern Jenae Shivers with whom he resided.  Sons, T.J. Slade, Jr., of DE, and Michael Robertson of NC.  Stepdaughter, Tanya Davis of Roosevelt, NY.  Stepson, Robert Shivers of Lansford.  Several grandchildren.  Siblings, Kenneth Shay Reid, I, of Staten Island; Reeshemah A. Reid, Roosevelt, NY; Donnell Nash of Stockbridge; Georgia and Theresa Byrd, Queens, NY.  Nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by brother, Gregory A. Slade, Sr., who passed in June 2022.
