Arlene M. Butz, 82 of Lower Nazareth Township, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania died Thursday, September 28, 2017, at ManorCare Health Services, Easton, Pennsylvania. Born March 29, 1935 in Easton, she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Mildred (Kline) Shook. She was the wife of Gerald S. Butz, with whom she shared 61 years of marriage last December 24, 2016. Arlene was a homemaker all her life, caring for her family. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hecktown, where she was a member of the Young At Heart Senior Group and she was active with the Helping Hands Committee. She was a member of the Appalachian Fiddler Blue Grass Association. She enjoyed embroidery, canning, and time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Surviving along with her husband Gerald are; daughter, Susan A. wife of Donald Gordon, Jr. of Nazareth, son, Kenneth G. Butz and wife Freda of Effort, daughters, Kathryn A. wife of Earl Sigley of Bethlehem, and Karen L. wife of Robert Krome, Jr. of Wind Gap; Five Grandchildren: Sara wife of Brandon Flyte, Kenneth Butz, II and wife Angelin, Shawn Sigley and wife Sonya, Robert Krome III and wife Ashley, and Nichlos Krome; Six Great- Grandchildren: Emsley, Avery, Elley, Kelsey, Audrey, and Logan, A Niece and three Great Nephews and one Great Niece.
She was predeceased by a brother Clifford.
A Funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday October 3, 2017 at Dryland U.C.C. Church, 4415 Newburg Road Nazareth, Pennsylvania with the Rev. Dr. Christian Eichorn officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM on Monday, October 2, 2017, at Bartholomew-Schisler Funeral Home, 211 E. Center Street, Nazareth, Pennsylvania 18064, also Tuesday, October 3, 2017 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm in the church. Interment will follow in Hope Cemetery, Lower Nazareth Township, Pennsylvania.
