Arlene A. George

Arlene A. George, 82 of Walnutport - Lehigh Twsp., PA, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Center, Allentown, PA.
Born March 4, 1940 in Treichlers- Lehigh Twsp., PA, she was the daughter of the late Victor R. Handwerk, Sr. and the late Ruth M. (Laub) Handwerk. She was the wife of the late Robert G. George who passed away in July 1991.

Arlene was a Northampton Area Senior High graduate who went on to marry and become a homemaker / farmer's wife caring for her family. She was an avid baker, gardener, farmer, lover of animals, square dancer, and past 4-H leader. Member of the former Harmony Grange Pennsville, PA. She was also a life long member of St. Paul's U.C.C. Church, Cherryville-Indianland.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa A. Modica, wife of Carl, Jr. of Berlin, PA, son, Keith R. George and wife Jennifer of Ephrata, PA, brother, Harvey Handwerk and wife Althea of Walnutport, PA, along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 3 Brothers; Arthur, Louis, Victor, Jr. and 3 Sisters; Verna, Mildred, and Ada.

A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday June 16, 2022 at Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave. Northampton, PA 18067. The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, and Thurs. 6/15/2022 from 10:00 AM until time of service. both at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Slatington, PA.
