Arlene Gogel

Arlene Gogel, 96 of Bethlehem, formerly of Whitehall, passed away on Monday, February 16, 2026, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg, Bethlehem. Born January 30, 1930 in Mickleys, she was the daughter of the late August and Mary (Szimitz) Scharl, Sr.. She and her husband, Ray R. Gogel were married on February 18, 1950.

She was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, Whitehall.

Survivors: In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons, Barry R. Gogel of Forest Hills, NY, and Mark R. Gogel and wife Aliceann of Allentown, daughter, Linda A. wife of Henry Lokay of Boulder, CO, six grandchildren; five great grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by daughter-in-law Linda L. Gogel, brothers, August "Jake" Scharl, Jr. and Joseph Scharl, sisters, Mary Torba, Ida Gontar and Matilda Scharl.

Services: The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by an 11:00 AM funeral service, all on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at the Schisler Funeral Home, Inc., 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA 18067. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park, Whitehall, PA.

Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dementia Society of America, in care of the funeral home.
