Barbara A. Ahner

Barbara A. (Behler) Ahner , 77, of 2nd Street, Lehighton, PA, died Monday afternoon, December 11, 2023, at St. Luke's Hospital, Carbon Campus, Lehighton.  Born in Weissport, she was a daughter of the late Wayne R., Sr. and Caroline A. (Walck) Behler.

Barbara was employed as a machine operator for many years by the former Scotty's Fashions Co., Lehighton, and a longtime member of the I.L.G.W.U.  An active member of St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church, E. Weissport, she participated in the church Altar Guild, the church Christian Education Committee, and as a Sunday School teacher.  Barbara volunteered as a Lehighton Area Girl Scout Leader, and earned a 5 gallon plus blood donor pin.  She loved and enjoyed caring for her cats.

Survivors: Daughter, Phyllis K. of Lehighton.  Son, Keith L. and wife Donna of Lehighton.  2 grandchildren, Carol, and James.  1 great-granddaughter, Arya.  Several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by sisters, Maryellen Ahner, Loretta Kistler, and a brother, Wayne R., Jr.

Services: 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 15, 2023, St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 222 N. Church Street, Lehighton, E.
