Barbara G. Costalas

Barbara Grace (Duell) Costalas, 64, of Northampton, Lehigh Twp, died peacefully Friday morning, April 26, 2024, in her home. She was the wife of James J. Costalas since September 22, 1985. Born in Rensselaer, NY, she was a daughter of the late Gerald and Frances (Lippert) Duell.

Barbara was employed by the Guardian Life Insurance Co., Dental Health Associates, and St. Luke's Health Network as medical insurance account manager. She was an active member of St. Peter's Church, Emerald, Lehigh County, where she was active in the Youth Ministry, Youth Mission Trips, Church Committee, Chairperson of both Boy Scout Troop #15, and Cub Pack Troop #201, and the Mountain Top Walk to Emmaus Program. Barbara was a 1977 graduate of the F.K. Lane High School, Queens, NY. She enjoyed traveling, camping, cruising, fishing, biking, hiking, cooking, baking, and hosting family gatherings.

Survivors: husband. daughter, Nicole M. wife of Timothy Kopchak of Northampton. son, Stephen J., and wife Caitlin of Roseto. 3 grandchildren, Lewis, Amanda, and Owen. brother, Geoffrey Duell of Northampton. several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Francine Nolan.

Services: 11:00AM Thursday, St. Peter's Church, 7860 Center Street, Slatington (Emerald), PA 18080. Call, 7-8:30PM Wednesday, Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA 18067 and 10-11:00AM Thursday in church. Interment, Fairview Cemetery, Cherryville Road, Northampton.
