Barry L. Stopay, Sr.

Barry L. Stopay, Sr. , 75 of Northampton, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2024, at his residence in Northampton, PA. Born June 20, 1949, he was the son of the late Metro Stopay and the late Gloria (Lerch) Stopay. Barry was the loving and caring husband of Sharon (Moyer) Stopay, with whom he shared 52 years of marriage.

Barry was a graduate of Northampton High School and Northampton Community College. He recently enjoyed celebrating his 57th High School class reunion with the class of 1967, a true "Konkrete Kid." Barry worked for General Electric, Allied Signal, and most recently BBraun, before retiring in 2013. In his spare time, Barry loved to put on spectacular J4 firework displays for family and friends. Barry also cherished his 8 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. He loved attending their sporting events and spending time together as their "Pappy."

Survivors: sons, Barry L. Stopay, Jr. and wife Nicole, of Walnutport, Scott M. Stopay and wife Jill, of New Tripoli, daughter, Amy D. Gannon and husband Christopher of Catasauqua, sister, Brenda J. Stopay of Northampton, grandchildren, Zach and wife Jenna, Jacob, Aiden, Taylor, Luke, Paige, Quinn, Norah, and great-granddaughter, Vida.

A Funeral Service will be held Saturday November 30th, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave. Northampton, PA 18067. The family will receive relatives and friends from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, November 29, 2024, and from 10:00 AM up until the time of service on Saturday.
