Bernadine A. Czonstka

Bernadine A. Czonstka, 96, formerly of Northampton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at Phoebe Allentown Health Care Center in Allentown, Born November 25, 1929 in Mahanoy City, PA, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Sroka) Marsolick and wife of the late Joseph W. Czonstka who passed away June 2, 2024.

Bernadine was last employed as a cafeteria worker for the Whitehall High School and worked in housekeeping at the Catasauqua High School for five years before retiring in 2008. Prior to that she was an expert seamstress for the former Cross Country Clothes, Northampton, and the former Billera Brothers, Northampton. She also worked at the former Western Electric. Bernadine was a member of Assumption Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Northampton. She was a long time maker of pierogies at St. John the Baptist Church, Northampton. In her spare time she enjoyed polka dancing and going to the casinos. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and her grand-dog Archie.

She is survived by her son, Anthony J. Czonstka and wife Gail of Northampton, daughter, Christine wife of Michael J. Kahn of Allentown, grandchildren, Brett (and Katie), Carlyn (wife of David), Kirk (and wife Lindsey), Steven, and David, and great grandsons, Jaylin, Isaiah, Jack, and Oscar.

The family will receive friends from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM, Saturday, September 5, 2026 at the Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA 18067, followed by a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 2181 Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA 18067, Interment will follow in Our Lady of Hungary Cemetery, Northampton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Northampton Food Bank, in care of the funeral home.
