Betty L. Proctor , 87 of Northampton, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Inpatient Hospice in Allentown, PA. Born July 30, 1935 in Northampton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ralph E. Missimer and the late Mildred C. (Bachman) Missimer. She was the wife of James R. Proctor with whom she shared 66 years of marriage last June 16, 2022.
Betty was a 1953 graduate of Northampton Area High School who was employed by the former Twin County Cable / RCN, Northampton, PA as a Customer Service Representative for 25 years before retiring in 1997. Betty was a lifelong member and Elder of St. Paul's U.C.C. Church, Northampton, PA, where she was a Sunday School Teacher for over 52 years. She served as church Treasurer for 26 years, and was an assistant and served as Treasurer for Boy Scout Troop #93. Betty was a member and Treasurer for the Women's Group at St. Paul's, along with being a member of the Christian Education Board. She was a member of the Northampton A.A.R.P., and she assisted the Northampton Food Bank with fundraising events for over 12 years.
Survivors: Surviving along with her husband are sons, Christopher J. Proctor and wife Nancy of Catasauqua, PA and Dennis R. Proctor and wife Lori of Whitehall, PA, daughter, Kimberly S. wife of Mark Jenkins of Ashland, MA, sister, Mrs. Barbara A. Budnik, son-in-law, Greg Blazinsky, and sister-in-law, Elinor Missimer all of Northampton ; 10 grand children; 2 great grand children. She was predeceased by her daughter, Valerie Blazinsky in Aug. 2013 and brother, Donald R. Missimer in May 2021.
Services: A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday June 17, 2023 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 105 E. 19th Street Northampton, PA 18067 with the Rev. Joel W. Biggers officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the services. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Northampton, PA. Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA 18067 has been entrusted with her care and services.
