Carl F. Goerlitz

Carl F. Goerlitz , 78, of Hillside Avenue, Palmerton, PA, formerly of Aquashicola, died peacefully early Wednesday morning, August 3, 2022, in his home.  He was the husband of the late Donna L. (Gable) Goerlitz who passed in 2014.  Born in Scranton, he was a son of the late Arthur R. Goerlitz and Marie VanNortwick, and stepmother, Doris (Bortree) Goerlitz.

Carl was employed as a paver and foreman for the Saccone and Sons Paving Co., Bath, for over 15 years.  Carl retired from Braclette Construction with an award for perfect attendance, after never having missed a day of work for 23 years. He attended Lake Ariel High School.  A Navy Veteran, Vietnam Era, he served on the USS Yorktown and achieved rank of SN (E-3).  Carl was a member and past commander of the VFW Post #7134, Palmerton.

Survivors: Stepmother. Daughters, Linette A. Goerlitz and companion Omar Lopez, with whom he resided, and Lorene Goerlitz of Palmerton.  Daughter-in-law, Lynne M. (Hauser) Goerlitz of Ashfield.  Grandchildren, Matt, Christie, and Amanda Goerlitz, Skylar Moyer, and Brandon, Garrett, and Sam Rice.  Great-grandchildren, Bryson, and Adalynn Goerlitz. He was predeceased by son, Carl Lee in 2013, and brothers, Richard, and William.

Wife, Donna, will be placed at rest along with her husband, while at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery on Thursday.
