Catherine R. Blihar , 74, of Edgemont Avenue, Palmerton, Pennsylvania, died peacefully Tuesday evening, February 7, 2017, in her home.  She was the wife of Joseph E. Blihar since September 9, 1967.  Born in Lansford, she was a daughter of the late John I. and Victoria K. (Kruzek) Pazo.

Catherine was employed in various capacities at the former Loom Tag Mill, Summit Hill.  Previously, she worked as a secretary for the Pennsylvania State Police, Harrisburg, PA.  Later, she worked for the custodial department of Pencor Services, Palmerton.  Catherine was a member and former Eucharistic Minister at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Palmerton, where she enjoyed seasonal decorating of the church, volunteering at picnics, the festival food stand, singing in the choir, and attending Bible Study.  An avid bowler, she participated at both the Haja Lanes in Palmerton, and the Hampton Lanes in Northampton.

Survivors: Husband, Joseph.  Daughters, Alicia R. Hicks of Dillsburg, Lydia M. Blihar of Palmerton.  Son, John J. of Wescosville.  6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.  Sisters, Mary Rogalski of Manville, New Jersey, Theresa Svetz of Hometown.  Brothers, Joseph A. and wife Marylee of Littleton, Colorado, Francis and wife Lorraine of Walnutport.  Several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a brother, Michael.

Services: Mass of Christian Burial, 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 243 Lafayette Avenue, Palmerton, PA, 189071.  Call will be from 7:00-8:30 p.m. on Monday evening, February 13, 2017 and 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning, at Campton Funeral Home, 525 Delaware Avenue, Palmerton, PA 18071.  Interment will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Memorial Fund or Disabled American Veterans-VAROIC, PO Box 42938, Wissahickon and Manheim Streets, Philadelphia, PA 19101.
