Catherine J. Brobst

Catherine J. Brobst , 82 of Whitehall-Egypt, PA, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 6, 2025, at Fellowship Manor / Community in Whitehall, PA. Born June 21, 1942 in Whitehall-Egypt, PA, she was the daughter of the late William A. Shafnisky and the late Katie E. (Novak) Shafnisky.

Catherine was a 1960 graduate of Whitehall High School, who went on to work for P.P. & L. Electric Co. Allentown, PA as a Senior Investor Services Representative in the Financial Department for 30 years before retiring. After retirement Cathy enjoyed traveling to Florida, visiting casinos, and polka dancing every weekend. She was a longtime member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Whitehall, PA.

She is survived by her sister, Martha Shafnisky of Whitehall, PA. along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her 5 brothers, William J., Richard, Alfred, Thomas, David, and a sister Dorothy R. Karpyn. Also her former husband Ronald Brobst and companion, James McCann.

A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday January 17, 2025 at Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave. Northampton, PA. 18067. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the service. Interment will follow in Egypt Cemetery, Whitehall Twp (Egypt), PA.
