Catherine M. (Sherman) Eckhart, 86, of Main Street, Northampton, died Sunday evening, Mar 11, 2018, at Mahoning Valley Nursing & Rehab Center, Lehighton. She was the wife of the late Ernest E. Eckhart, Sr. who passed in 2002. Born in Gerrardstown, WV, she was a daughter of the late Edgar P. and Rosie (Adams) Sherman.
Catherine was employed as a seamstress by the former D & D Shirt Co., Northampton, retiring in 1985. She was a member of Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bath, Moore Twp. She was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker.
Survivors: daughters, Carol L. wife of Russel Hunter of FL. sons, Allen W. and wife Donna of Albrightsville, Bryan of Northampton, Ernest E. Eckhart, Jr. and fiancée, Nancy Gerstenberg of Laurys Station. 7 grandchildren. several great grandchildren. sisters, Virginia Eckhart,, Janet L. wife of Ralph Eckhart, Jr., BettyLou Whitaker, all of Northampton. brother, Edward Sherman of Allentown. nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by daughter, Donna M. Schleicher in 2016.
Services: 10:00AM Thursday, Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA 18067. Call, 9-10:00AM Thursday in funeral home. Interment, Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Airport Road, Hanover Twp.
