Cheryl L. Dettmer

Cheryl L. Dettmer, 81 of Lehigh Township, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg, Bethlehem. Born June 1, 1945 in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Sterling and Dorothy (Gehr) Jones. She and her husband Russell D. Dettmer were married in June 19, 1965.

She was a 1963 graduate of Catasauqua High School and a member of Bethany Wesleyan Church, Cherryville, where she was a Sunday School Teacher. Cheryl also enjoyed to cook, decorate, and read.

in addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Cindy S. wife of Chuck Haff of Fargo, ND and Tammy L. wife of Robert Strahan of Palmerton, brother, Mark Jones of Easton, son-in-law, Joe Barth, eight grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Wendy K. Barth and five grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, followed by an 1:00 PM memorial service, all on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at Bethany Wesleyan Church, 675 Blue Mt. Drive, Cherryville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church in care of the Miller Funeral Home 137 Fairview Street, Lehighton, PA 18235.
