Chris Allen Abel

Chris Allen Abel, 60 of Nazareth, PA., passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2022, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Center in Allentown, PA. Born October 11, 1961 in Bethlehem-fountain Hill, PA, he was the son of the late Theodore J. Abel and the late Beverly Ann (Rumsey) Abel.

Chris was a 1979 graduate of Nazareth High School who furthered his education earning an Associates Degree in business from Churchman's Business School, Easton, PA in 1981. Chris first worked for the former Easton National Bank, then took a position as Secretary / Treasurer for General Supply and Green Pond Country Club, Bethlehem, PA. He then found a position at Belyea Company, Inc., Easton ,PA as a Controller for 21 years, and in February 2018 he transitioned to the same position for Newton Engineering Group, Wescosville, PA. until retiring in December
2021. Chris was a mem ber of Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bath, PA. where he served as former council member along with several other committees throughout the years. He was a member of the Vigilance Hose Co. #1, Nazareth, PA.

Surviving are brother, John T. Abel and wife Rosa of Nazareth, PA, sister, Donna L. wife of Anthony Re of Reading, PA. Nieces Jackie Gaines, Megan E. (Re) Celestine, and nephew Nicholas T. Abel, two great-nephews; Logan Re Celestine, Dylan Ridgeway, and great-niece, Jasmine Ridgeway, and a great-great-niece, Sofia Ridgeway.

Public visitation will be held Wednesday January 12, 2022 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at Bartholomew-Schisler Funeral Home, 211 E. Center Street, Nazareth, PA. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Emmanuelsville, PA.
