Ciro "Gino" Manganaro, 85 of Northampton, PA, passed away at his residence with family by his side on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. Born February 21, 1941 in Bacoli, Naples, Italy, he was the son of the late Antonio Manganaro and the late Rosa Illiano. He was the husband of the late Anna Maria (Lucciola) Manganaro who passed away January 29, 2017.
Ciro came to America in 1963 with the hopes of building a better life for his family he left behind in Italy. Not knowing anyone, he did not know the language and had nothing but the clothes on his back. He worked in a pizzeria in Brooklyn, NY. In 1966, he met his future wife Anna Maria while she was on break as a seamstress in a factory at Prospect Pizza in Brooklyn. Their love story began that day, and within a year they married on April 1, 1967.
Ciro was a very well known business owner for many years, owning and operating the well recognized former Pizza City, Northampton, PA. After moving to Easton, PA he again with his wife opened the Nicolosi's Pizza Shop in Fork's Twsp, PA until their retiring in 2004. Ciro was a member of St. Peter's R.C. Church, Coplay, PA. Ciro enjoyed Italian Soccer and rooted for the Napoli (Naples) Soccer team. He enjoyed playing Italian cards, watching nature shows, music, and singing, especially Italian classic songs. His most cherished moments were spending time with his grandchildren and family. Before ever coming to the United States, Ciro served some time in the Italian Navy.
Ciro is survived by his son, Anthony Manganaro of Northampton, PA, daughters, Roseann Humphrey of Allentown, PA and Giovanna wife of Nate Palanica of Northampton, PA; 4 grandchildren; Maricella, Mason, Tyler, and Nate, Jr. a sister Rosalia and a brother Gennaro and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 AM on Monday at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, 4 South Fifth Street Coplay, PA. 18037 with the Rev. Msgr. Donald W. Cieniewicz officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Monday, October 12, 2026 at Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave., Northampton, PA. 18067. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Hungary Cemetery, Northampton, PA.
