, 82 of Whitehall, Pennsylvania, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2017, at her home. Born March 30, 1935 in Whitehall, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Katie (Kunkle) Kromer. She was the wife of Franklin D.R. Silfies with whom she shared 60 years of marriage last Oct. 13, 2016.
Claire was last employed as a clerk for Sears Roebuck & Co., Whitehall, PA. for 30 years before retiring in 1997. Prior to she waitressed for several years.
Survivors: Surviving with Husband Franklin are daughters, Donna wife of Daniel Pavlick of Northampton, PA, Susan wife of Bill Whittaker of Macungie, PA, brothers, Leonard Kromer of Allentown, PA, John Kromer of Schnecksville, PA, David Kromer of Schnecksville, PA and Richard Kromer and wife Karen of Santa Rosa, CA, sisters, Mrs. Barbara Swoyer of Allentown, PA and Linda wife of Timothy Wotring of Schnecksville, PA; 4 Granddaughters: Amy, Kylee, Katie, and Tina; 5 Great-Grandchildren: Jadyn, Colette, Audrey, Joseph, and Tyler, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 2 Brothers and 3 Sisters.
Services: A Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday September 22, 2017 at Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave.
Northampton, PA. 18067 with the Rev. Gary L. Walbert officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM prior to the services. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown, PA.
Contributions: May be made in her memory to St. Luke's Hospice C/O the funeral home.
