Claude "Bud" D. Hay

Claude "Bud" D. Hay , 70, of Bethlehem, PA, died peacefully Wednesday morning, September 11, 2024 in his home surrounded by his family.

Born June 23, 1954 in Lehighton, PA, he was the son of the late Claude A. Hay and Grace L. (Frantz) Shupp of Coaldale, PA.

Prior to retiring in 2020, Bud was an Operational Executive who lived abroad and traveled globally throughout his career.  He primarily worked for Ingersoll Rand, JLG Industries and Manitowoc.  Bud was a 1972 graduate of Palmerton High School and in 1976 graduated from The Ohio State University, Columbus, OH.

Bud was an avid fitness buff who enjoyed classic cars, especially corvettes, hunting, traveling and spending time in nature.  Those who knew him also know he loved his family and keeping in touch with old friends.  Bud was also a proud Buckeye football fan who will always be remembered through special memories and moments shared by family, friends and loved ones.

Bud is survived by his wife of over 23 years Jamie (Deemer), a son, Stephen Hay of Leesburg, FL; daughter Christie Hay of Northampton, PA; grandson Elliot Hay; sister Bobbi Shupp of Kunkletown, PA; brothers, James and wife Milissa Hay of Lehighton, PA and Daniel Shupp of Auburn, CA.  He was predeceased by stepfather Lloyd H. Shupp.

Funeral Services are Monday, September 16th 7-9 PM at the Campton Funeral Home, 525 Delaware Avenue, Palmerton, PA 18071, and Tuesday September 17th 10-11 AM at the funeral home.  Private Entombment.  Online Condolences can be made at: www.schislerfuneralhomes.com .
