Clayton R Wieand

Clayton R. Wieand, 90, of Northampton, formerly of Walnutport, PA died Monday, April 4, 2016, at ManorCare Bethlehem. Born February 13, 1926 in Indianland, Lehigh Twp., Walnutport, PA. He was the son of the late Roland and Helen (Hunsberger) Wieand and the husband of the late Mary E. (Ruch) Wieand. He worked for the former Martin Mariette Cement Co., Northampton, for 36 1/2 years before retiring in 1988. He was a life member of Lehigh Township Fire Comany No. 1, Blue Mt. Fish & Game, and the Roosevelt Democratic Club, Danielsville. A former baseball coach at Lehigh Township Athletic Association, an avid bowler of various clubs around the Lehigh Valley, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a Corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Survived by daughters, Wanda, wife of William Buss, Jr., of Northampton, PA, Audrey, wife of Donald Troxell of Raeford, NC. Sister, Mildred Binder of Walnutport, PA. Brothers, James, of Phoenix, AZ, Franklin "Ted", and wife Joan, of Slatington, PA. Three Grandchildren, Jennifer, Sara, and Stephen, and wife Laura. Eleven Great-Grandchildren. Seven Great-Great-Grandchildren. Sister-In-Law, Nancy Bachman, of Walnutport. Predeceased by sons, Mark, and Russell. Grandson, Terry Allen Buss. Brothers, Harold, and Edward. Sisters, Elsie Mitman, Ethel Geiling, Althea Klutzaritz, Ruth Binder, and infant sister, Margaret.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM followed by a 2:00 PM funeral service, all on Thursday, April 7th, 2016 at the Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA 18067. Interment will be at Indianland Cemetery, Cherryville.
