Cleo C. Silfies , 96 of Cherryville- Lehigh Twsp., PA, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Friday, March 8, 2024, at his residence. Born October 28, 1927 in Palmerton / Lower Towamensing Twsp., PA, he was the son of the late Calvin G. Silfies and Mable C. (Borger) Silfies. He was the husband of the late Rose T. (Wechsler) Silfies who passed away April 20, 2008.

Cleo was a Northampton High School graduate who was last employed as a Lab Technician for the former Dragon Cement Co./ Martin-Marietta Cement Co., Northampton, PA for 35 years before retiring in 1985. Prior to he worked for the former Dieter's Foundry in Cherryville, PA as a laborer for a few years. Cleo served his country as a Corporal in the US Army during the Korean War.

Cleo is survived by two daughters; Kathleen G. wife of Walter Gursky, II of Walnutport, PA, and Bernadette K. Silfies of Cherryville, PA, a son, Jeffrey D. Silfies of Lehighton, PA, sister, Mrs. Verna Biege of Walnutport, PA; 2 grandchildren; Walter Gursky, III and his wife Laura of Warrington, PA, and Kristine Gursky of Houston, TX.  2 great-granddaughters; Cameron and Kayla. He was predeceased by 3 brothers, Stanley, Russell, and Herman.

A Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM on Friday March  15, 2023 at Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave. Northampton, PA 18067. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the services. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Hungary Cemetery, Northampton, PA.
