Constance "Connie" M. Newell

Constance "Connie" M. Newell , 86 of Nazareth, PA, passed away on January 18, 2025, at St. Luke's Hospital - Anderson Campus in Easton, PA. Born June 4, 1938 in Bethlehem, PA, she was the daughter of the late Warren "Bill" Lowe and the late Arlene (Reese) Lowe. She was the loving wife of Robert "Bob" Newell, Jr., for 63 years.

Connie was a graduate of Nazareth High School, class of 1956. She started her working career as a secretary at People's Coal & Supply Co. She then attended Kutztown State Teachers College, and completed her Bachelor's Degree in elementary education. Connie worked as a 1st grade teacher at Floyd R. Shafer Elementary School, Nazareth, PA, teaching for 30 years and retiring in 1991. She was a life member at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Nazareth, a past Worthy Matron and 50 year member of Calypso Chapter 163 Order of the Eastern Star, Nazareth, PA, and was a member of the Jacobsburg Historical Society. She always looked forward to her regular lunch dates with retired teaching friends, and enjoyed playing pinochle, but most importantly loved her casino visits to Wind Creek, Atlantic City, and Vegas. Connie was known for her renowned baking skills, specializing in cookies and her famous chocolate cake.

Surviving along with her husband, daughter, Tamela Fidyk and husband Steve, and grandsons, Tony, and Joey Fidyk, all of Davidsonville, MD.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 200 S. Broad Street, Nazareth, PA 18064. The family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00 AM up until the time of service. Burial will follow at Hope Cemetery, Hecktown, PA.
