Dale T. Ritter

Dale (Smoke) Thomas Ritter, born in Allentown, PA on December 27, 1948, passed away peacefully on December 19th at the age of 73. He was the son of Pierce (Pat) and Rose Ritter.

His parents taught him to be respectful and that the Ritter name is something to be proud of. He graduated from Dieruff High School in 1966 and after graduation he went to work for Local #375 Electrical Union for 44 years before retiring in 2011. He was married to Lynn (Kocher) Ritter. Smoke and Lynn celebrated 30 years of marriage on Dec 12th, and they had a beautiful home together in Cherryville. Dale and his brothers were close and enjoyed playing sports and going to events together. Dale was the catcher for the Trexlertown fast pitch softball team for over 20 years. He met his best friends through the league that lasted a lifetime. Dale was an animal lover and always showed kindness to any animal especially his dogs, Baylor, Montana and Bailey, which he looks forward to meeting on the rainbow bridge.

In addition to his wife Lynn, he is survived by twin brother Dennis (Sandy) Ritter of Bethlehem, previous spouse Ellen Bennett of Whitehall, sons Joseph (Amy) Ritter of Slatington, Scott (Kristy) Ritter of Allentown and daughter Lauren Ritter (Thomas Schaffer) of Allentown. He loved and will be dearly missed by his 4 grandchildren, Emma, Pierce, Bradley and Ashley. He was preceded in death by brothers James of Allentown, Thomas of Breinigsville and Daniel of Allentown.

Friends may call from 9:30 AM to start of services at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 23, 2022 at Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA 18067. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown, PA.
