Daniel D. Smith

Daniel D. Smith , 75 of Palmerton, PA passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at St. Luke's Hospital - Carbon Campus in Lehighton, PA. Born March 4, 1949 in Palmerton, PA, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Pauline (Costenbader) Smith.

Dan joined the Navy in 1967, serving Honorably during the Vietnam war Era.  During his time in the Navy he earned the rank of BT2, before being discharged in 1977.  Once returning home, he worked at a foundry for a number of years as a molder and a mechanic. Then Dan worked at Carbon County Intermediate Unit 21, as a Janitor for 4 years. Lastly, he worked for DCNR as a Park Ranger in East Penn Township for 5 years before retiring officially in 2024. In Dan's free time he loved to walk on the D&L Trail, and was know for being a Handy Man, always fixing or tinkering on something.

Survivors: companion Brenda Mull of Palmerton PA, sons, Brian and Brent Smith of Jim Thorpe, PA and Joel Smith of Stony Run, PA, brother, Randy Smith and wife Maria of Bowmanstown, PA, sister, Alice Kegal and husband Chris of Palmerton, PA.

Services are private and at the convenience of the family. Campton Funeral Home, Palmerton PA, has been entrusted with his care.
