David L. Hangen

David L. Hangen, 73 of Northampton, PA, passed away on Thursday, June 10, 2021, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg Campus in Bethlehem, PA. Born July 24, 1947 in Northampton, he was the son of the late Charles Hangen and the late Luetta (Wright) Hangen. He was the husband of Jean (Banks) Hangen with whom he shared 49 years of marriage last June 26, 2020.

David was last employed as a Machinist for Everson-Tesla, Nazareth, PA for 50 years before retiring in 2018. He was a member of Grace U.C.C. Church, Northampton. In his former years, he coached youth baseball and basketball for the Northampton Athletic Assoc. He enjoyed sports and was an avid Iron Pigs baseball fan, but attending and watching his grandchildren play their individual sports was his greatest love. David served his country as a Sergeant during the Vietnam War.

Surviving along with his wife Jean a daughter, Christina L. Oswald, wife of Thomas of Northampton, PA, son, Charles D. Hangen and wife Carol of Nazareth, PA, sister, Lujean P. Burak wife of Michael of Exton, PA; 4 grand children; Kaitlyn, Ronica, Ava, and Alec.

A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday June 18, 2021 at Grace United Church of Christ, 902 Lincoln Avenue Northampton, PA. 18067. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
