David M. Hassler

David M. Hassler , 74, of Nazareth, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 22, 2023. He was the loving husband of  MaryJane (Valo) Hassler, to whom he was married for over 42 years. Born in Allentown, David was the son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Susan (Buskirk) Hassler. He was a 1967 graduate of Salisbury High School and 1971 graduate of East Stroudsburg University. He worked as a physical education teacher and athletic director at Moravian Academy from 1971 to 2012. Following his retirement, David enjoyed working as an usher for the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, Lehigh University, and Wind Creek Event Center. He was an avid skier and volunteered as a Ski Patroller at Camelback Resort for over 50 years, earning "Ski Patroller of the Year" for the 1973-1974 season. David loved playing guitar, hiking, and rooting for the Eagles, Phillies, and Penn State. He was a loving father and doting grandfather to his grandpups, Bella and Kona.

In addition to his wife, David is survived by his daughter, Kristen Hassler of Bethlehem, PA; sister, Kathleen (Hassler) Crouthamel of Allentown, PA; brothers-and sisters-in-laws; several nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins.

Services: The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM followed by an 11:00 AM memorial service, all on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at the Bartholomew-Schisler Funeral Home, 211 E. Center Street, Nazareth, PA 18064.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Camelback Ski Patrol in care of the funeral home.
