David E. Kunkle, Sr.,
77, of Canal Street, Walnutport, Pennsylvania, died suddenly Tuesday evening, June 12, 2018, at St. Luke's Hospital, Palmerton Campus. He was the husband of Darlene C. (Clauser) Kunkle since July 10, 1964. Born in Rockdale, Washington Township, he was a son of the late Paul and Mary (Valora) Kunkle.
David was a self-employed stone mason for many years. An avid fisherman and hunter, he was a member of the Slatington Skeet Club and the Ontelaunee Rod and Gun Club, New Tripoli. He enjoyed playing the guitar, and the harmonica.
Survivors:
Wife, Darlene. Daughters, Debra L. Kunkle-Guereca of Palmerton, Donna L. wife of Steven Owen of Berwick, Denise C. wife of David A. Reese, and Denita A. wife of Robert Wetzel, all of Slatington. 8 grandchildren, Jesse, Samuel, Jamie, Lindsey, Sydney, Shawn, Emma, and Robert. 5 great-grandchildren. Sister, Nancy wife of Alex Balliet, Sr., of Walnutport. Brother, Donald and wife Mary Kunkle of Slatington. Numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by infant son, Dennis C. Kunkle, in 1967, and sisters, Arlene, Betty, MaryJane, and Carol, as well as brothers, Paul Jr., Richard, Larry, and Thomas Kunkle.
