Delbert E. Christman

Delbert E. Christman , 96, of Little Gap Road, Palmerton, Lower Towamensing Township, PA, died peacefully Saturday evening April 23, 2022, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.  He was the husband of the late Dorothea P. (Peters) Christman who passed in 2005.  Born in Palmerton, he was a son of the late Edwin and Edith (Borger) Christman.

Delbert was a self-employed mason for over 45 years.  He was a lifelong member of Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church Trachsville.  An Army veteran of WWII, he served his country with honor in the European Theatre with 2 bronze stars, achieving the rank of PFC.  Delbert was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a life member of the Kunkletown Rod and Gun Club.  He enjoyed playing cards, bicycling horseshoes, square dancing, NASCAR #3, family picnics, and parties.  He was a longtime member of Grundsau Lodsch Nummer Sexa uff da Pohopoco, Monroe Kaundi.

Survivors: Daughters Kathleen J. wife of John Spirk of Bowmanstown, and Gail N.E. Paules and companion Scott of Whitehall.  Sons, Roger and wife Sandy of Saylorsburg, Rodney and wife Laurie of Lehigh Township, and Delbert D. and wife Shelly of Nazareth.  12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.  Sister, Janet wife of Raymond Miller of Allentown.  Numerous nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by son, David W., and a sister, Joyce Ahner.

Services: 11:00 a.m., Monday, May, 2, 2022, Jerusalem Lutheran Church, 500 Church Drive, Palmerton (Trachsville) PA 18071.  Call, 9:30-11:00 a.m., Monday in church.  Interment with Military Honors will follow at Jerusalem Lutheran Cemetery, Church Cemetery, Trachsville.  Arrangements, Campton Funeral Home, Palmerton.  Online Condolences: www.schislerfuneralhomes.com .
