Delores B. Hummel

Delores B. Hummel, 79, of Allentown, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2016. Delores (also known as Dolly) was born in Danielsville, to parents William and Kathryn (Minnich) Bossard.
She attended Northampton High School and was a graduate of Madison College in Virginia, where she earned a degree in English and Speech. Delores was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha National Honorary Fraternity. After graduation, Delores traveled extensively and lived with her family in Western Europe, North and South America. During her travels, she worked as a teacher, and as a volunteer while caring for her family. She returned to the Allentown area in the 1980's and began working with the mentally challenged as a social worker. Delores leaves behind her two children, Lisa Weaver and Bryan Duker, her two grandchildren, Hannah and Jacob, and her brother, Bernard Bossard. Delores was a spiritual person who enjoyed literature, music, cooking and gardening. She was very active in raising her grandchildren and was a caring and supportive friend.
Services: A celebration of her life will take place at her daughter's residence in Allentown, PA, from 12:00NOON - 3:00 p.m., Saturday, June 25, 2016. Interment is private. Arrangements are by Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA 18067.
