Dennis D. Lentz

Dennis D. Lentz , 65, of Ore Street, Bowmanstown, PA, formerly of Leesburg, VA, died peacefully early Sunday morning, April 14, 2024, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Carbon Campus, Lehighton, PA.  He was the husband of the late Kathleen T. (Toomey) Lentz who passed in 2016.  Born in Palmerton, he was the son of the late Nevin D. Lentz and the late Mrs. Edith L. (Semmel) Lentz of Bowmanstown, (who passed on Sunday, April 28, 2024).

Dennis was a very accomplished athlete in his younger years, competing in pole vaulting until graduating from Palmerton High School in 1977.  He then received a full ride scholarship to the University of Maryland, where he met his wife and later earned his MBA.  Dennis was a dedicated employee of America Online (AOL) for almost 20 years.  He was a lover of music, hydroponics, playing guitar, sports cars, and all things technology.  In his later years, he was inducted into the Carbon County Area Sports Hall of Fame in 2011, enjoyed his work as an SVP of Research Measurement Technologies, and he loved his newest role as "Pop Pop" to his two grandchildren.

Survivors: Twin daughters, Emily C. Lentz and wife Kelly Moses of San Francisco, CA, and Bethany R. wife of James C. Creel of Leesburg, VA.  2 grandchildren, Adeline and Preston.  Sister, Sheryl wife of Stephen Gerkovich of Lower Nazareth Twp.  Niece, Annie wife of Mark Scagel of Atlanta, GA.  Nephew, Mike Gerkovich and wife Dr. Hannah Bacon of New Orleans, LA.
