, 83, of Howertown Road, N. Catasauqua, died peacefully early Wednesday afternoon, March 8, 2017, in her home. She was the wife of the late Theodore R. Case, Jr., who passed in 2009. Born in Northampton, she was a daughter of the late John, Sr., and Thelma (Moore) Shimkanin.
Dolores was employed for over 45 years in the human resources management team at Lucent Technologies, Allentown, formerly Western Electric Corporation. She was a longtime member of Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua, where she, Carolyne, and Spencer volunteered at the church food bank for many years. Dolores was a member of the Western Electric Telephone Pioneers Group. She enjoyed attending bingo and volunteered at the Catasauqua Thrift Shop. Dolores enjoyed cooking/baking, especially during the holidays for her family.
Sons, Gregory C. and wife Lucille, and Garrick T., all of Florida; grandchildren, Carolyne Case-Frey with whom she resided, Mitchell Case of Florida; great-grandson, Spencer Frey, with whom she resided; sister, Shirley, wife of Leon Zmarzley of Slatington; brother, Jack, and wife April of Potter County, PA; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters Jean Shimkanin and Sandra Torbey; and brother, Thomas.
