Donald H. Kern

Donald H. Kern, 84 of Whitehall, PA, passed away at his home with family by his side on Thursday, November 30, 2023. Born March 12, 1939 in Whitehall- Egypt, PA, he was the son of the late Herbert Kern and the late Helen (Palansky) Kern. He was the husband of Betty A. (Klym) Kern with whom he shared 62 years of marriage this past October 14, 2023.

Donald was last employed by the former Bethlehem Steel Corp. as a Computer Operator for 29 years before retiring in 1989. After the Bethlehem Steel, he worked for Macy's Dept. Store, Whitehall as a sales clerk, Muhlenberg College, Allentown as security for sporting events, and Giant Food Store, Whitehall, as a cashier. Donald attended Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, Whitehall. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post #7293, Egypt-Whitehall, PA. Donald served his country as a Airman 1st Class in the Air Force from 1957 until 1965.

Surviving along with his wife Betty are son, Dale H. Kern of Emporium, PA, daughters, Lorrie L. wife of Steven Day of Northampton, PA and Sandra L wife of Richard Jones of Hatboro, PA; 4 grand children; 1 great granddaughter.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family, Schisler Funeral Home, Northampton, PA has been entrusted with his care and service.
