Donald R. Shambo, Jr.

Donald R. Shambo, Jr., 63 of Northampton, PA passed away on Monday, December 7, 2020, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest in Allentown, PA.

Born July 22, 1957 in Allentown, PA, he was the son of the late Donald R. Shambo, Sr. and Rose (Karaman) Shambo of Whitehall. He was the husband of Lesley (Chittick) Shambo with whom he shared 35 years of marriage this past July 20, 2020.

He was a graduate of Whitehall High School and Sacred Heart Hospital Paramedic Program. He worked as a Junior Fire Fighter for Whitehall Township Fire Department. After graduation, he worked as a paramedic for HealthTec, Central Berks ALS, both in Berks County, Whitehall Emergency Squad, Medic 3, and Northwestern Ambulance in Lehigh County. He was a Comm Tech with MedEvac from 1990-93 prior to becoming a flight paramedic for LVHN-MedEvac serving the Lehigh Valley for over 30 years. He also worked as an instructor at the George E. Moerkirk
Emergency Medicine Institute for the past 20 years. He proudly represented his colleagues as a past president of Lehigh County Ambulance Assoc., and a past President of Medic 3, Whitehall, PA.

Surviving along with his mother and wife Lesley are sons, Richard Shambo, III and companion Amanda of Northampton, PA and Collin J. Shambo and wife Courtney of Albrightsville, PA, brothers, John J. Shambo and companion Linda of Slatington, PA and Joseph M. Shambo and wife TerriAnn of Whitehall, PA, and 2 nieces.

Friends and family may call Sunday December 13, 2020 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM, both at Schisler Funeral Home , 2119 Washington Ave., Northampton, PA. 18067. Services and Internment will be held privately at the family's convenience. The public is asked to continue to follow social distancing guidelines, including the wearing of facial coverings.
