Doris L. Byerley

Doris L. (Shafer) Byerley , 100, of Forest Inn Road, Lehighton, Towamensing Township, PA, died peacefully early Monday morning, March 7, 2022, in her home.  She was the wife of the late Bob O. Byerley who passed in 1960.  Born in Kresgeville, Polk Township, Monroe County, she was a daughter of the late Amandus and Eva (Moyer) Shafer.

Doris was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker.  She enjoyed caring for her family and home.  She was a member of Jerusalem United Church of Christ, Palmerton (Trachsville), and a 1947 graduate of the former Polk Township High School.

Survivors: Daughters, Sandra Griffiths of Earleville, MD, and Corin Byerley of Wilmington, DE.  Sons, Lynn and wife Nancy of Palmerton, and Robert of Forest Inn.  2 grandchildren, Trevor, and Alissa.  1 great-grandson, Rhys.  Nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by sisters, Helen and Miriam, and brothers, Herman, James, Wilton, and Clarence.
