Doris A. (Green) Rehrig , 96, of Spring Street, Bowmanstown, PA, died peacefully late Friday afternoon, May 24, 2024, at Bethlehem South Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Bethlehem.  She was the wife of the late Ernest A. Rehrig who passed in 1997.  Born in Trachsville, Towamensing Twp., she was a daughter of the late Harvey and Bertha (Rissmiller).

Ernest served during World War II with the US Army and later as an employee of the US Government Counter Intelligence Core-CIC.   Ernest, Doris, and family were stationed overseas for over three decades before returning home to Bowmanstown.  Doris was employed as a machine operator for the former Wilmer Fashions in Bowmanstown, and served as vice president of the local I.L.G.W.U.  She had attended Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Trachsville.  Ernest worked for the Morning Call as a district manager in Lehighton, until his retirement.

Survivors: Sons, Gary A. and wife Roseanne, and Bart A., all of Bowmanstown, and Thomas A. and wife Deborah of Palmerton.  2 grandchildren, Ernest, and Melanie.  Great-granddaughter, Alexa.  Nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by sisters, Evelyn Steigerwalt, Barbara Meinhart, and Betty Rehrig, and brothers, Harvey, and Nelson, and granddaughter, Amanda Rose Rehrig.

Services: Graveside Services along with Military Honors, 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 15, 2024, for both Doris and her late husband, Ernest A.  Interment, Jerusalem Lutheran Cemetery, Trachsville.  Arrangements, Campton Funeral Home, Palmerton.  Online Condolences: www.schislerfuneralhomes.com .
