Doris J. Reitz

Doris J. (Handwerk) Reitz, 88, died peacefully early Tuesday morning, Oct 12, 2021, at Whitehall Manor. She was the wife of the late Mark T. Reitz who passed this last June. Born in Egypt, Whitehall Twp, she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Mildred (Kleckner) Handwerk.

Doris was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Evangelical Lutheran Church, Egypt, where she used to sing on choir for many years. Doris had great pride in raising her family. Her hobbies were cooking, baking, needlework, a love of playing cards and following her favorite sports team - the Philadelphia Phillies. She enjoyed traveling and the beauty of our country. Doris was a 1951 graduate of the Whitehall High School, and volunteered as Den Mother for several Cub Packs in PA and MD.

Survivors: sons, Robert M. and wife Carol of Whitehall, Dale M. and wife Eileen of Scottsdale, AZ. 5 grandchildren. 4 great grandchildren. sister, Linda Schock of Allentown. brothers, Ronald and wife Pam of Allentown, Gary and wife Lynne of Houston, TX. several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sister, Eleanor "Skip" Greenamoyer.

Services: Noon Monday, Shepherd of the Hills Church, 4331 Main Street, Whitehall (Egypt), PA 18052. Call, 10:00AM-Noon Monday in church. Interment, Egypt Cemetery, Main Street, Whitehall Twp. Arrangements, Schisler Funeral Home, Northampton.
