Doris M. Van Nostrand

Doris M. (Luttge) van Nostrand , 83, of Andreas, Mahoning Township, Pennsylvania, died peacefully early Saturday morning, July 8, 2017, in her home.  She was the wife of the late Arthur E. van Nostrand, Jr., who passed in 2016.  Born in Amityville, New York, she was a daughter of the late Louis A., MD and Ruth M. (Simpson) Luttge.

Doris was employed as a respiratory therapist in Port Jefferson Hospital, Long Island, New York, for several years, retiring in 1989.  Later, she was a professor at Lehigh Community College, Schnecksville.

Survivors: Daughters, Melissa Mayer of Jonas, Monroe County, PA, Diane wife of Robert Sniffen of Bayville, NY.  Sons, Christopher Mayer of Andreas, Arthur W. and wife Sharon van Nostrand of North Port, Long Island, NY.  9 grandchildren. Brother, Ronald and wife Joan Luttge of Meridian, Idaho.
