Dorothy E. Horwith

Dorothy E. Horwith, 86 of Slatington, PA, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at her residence in Slatington, PA. Born June 12, 1940 in Marcus Hook, PA, she was the daughter of the late Frank Guydes and late Lorraine Anderson. Dorothy was the loving wife of John J. Horwith, Jr., with whom she spent 67 years of marriage.

She was a graduate of Polk Township High School. Dorothy was employed by Weis Markets, where she worked as the bakery department manager, show casing her magnificent baking skills, working 30 years before retiring. In her free time, Dorothy was an avid bowler at the Allentown Sokol Club, and enjoyed crocheting. In her younger years, she cherished time outdoors, often fishing and camping.

Surviving along with her husband, are son, Jesse R. Horwith of Bernville, PA, daughters, Suzette DeAngelis of Jim Thorpe, PA, Patti-Mae Barley and husband Dennis of Slatington, PA, grandchildren Johnathan Keinert, and wife Rachel, Kurtis Keinert and wife Megan, Brandon Keinert and wife Kristen, and Rebecca Barley and companion William Borst, great-grandchildren Chloe and William Keinert, step-brother David Anderson. She was predeceased by sister, Benita, and step-brother John Anderson.

A Memorial Service will held on Friday October 30, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Schisler Funeral Home, Northampton, PA 18067, with the Rev. Dr. David C. Smith officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00 AM up until the time of service.
