Dorothy E. Kennedy

Dorothy E. Kennedy, 95 of Nazareth, PA, formerly of Walnutport, PA passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hecktown Oaks in Easton, PA. Born October 4, 1927 in Weaversville/Allen Twsp., PA, she was the daughter of the late Harold J. Lutz and Beatrice E. (Pearson) Lutz. She was the wife of the late Francis J. Kennedy who passed away August of 1975.

Dorothy was last employed as a Nurses Aide for Cedar Brook County Home, Allentown for 20 years before retiring in 1988. Dorothy was a life long member of St. John's U.C.C. Church, Howertown, where she served as past Co-President of the Fellowship Class, Former Den Mother of the Cub Scout Troop, and former Sunday School Teacher for many years. She also served as former Girl Scouts leader for the Troop in Kreidersville for several years. Dorothy was a member of the Northampton A.A.R.P. Chapter #3915. She was also member and past Secretary of the Keenagers Group at St. John's U.C.C. Church, Laury's Station.

Surviving are daughters, Linda Rae wife of David Danner of Stockertown, PA and Cheryl Ann Kennedy of Nazareth, PA, brother, Carlton Lutz and wife Dawn of FL., Son-in-law, Blaine Souerwine of GA, Sisters in law; Elaine Lutz of Northampton, PA, Judy Lutz, of TX, 6 Grandchildren and 6 Great-Grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her daughter, Donna Lee Souerwine, and brothers, Ronald and Harold Lutz.

A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday January 14, 2023 at St. John's United Church of Christ, 22 Atlas Road Northampton, PA. 18067. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the services. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Northampton, PA. Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA 18067 has been entrusted with her arrangements.
